Adaptive Metrics for Adaptive Samples
We generalize the local-feature size definition of adaptive sampling used in surface reconstruction to relate it to an alternative metric on Euclidean space. In the new metric, adaptive samples become uniform samples, making it simpler both to give adaptive sampling versions of homological inference results and to prove topological guarantees using the theory of critical points to distance func...
متن کاملDepolarizing differential Mueller matrices.
The evolution of a polarized beam can be described by the differential formulation of Mueller calculus. The nondepolarizing differential Mueller matrices are well known. However, they only account for 7 out of the 16 independent parameters that are necessary to model a general anisotropic depolarizing medium. In this work we present the nine differential Mueller matrices for general depolarizin...
متن کاملAutomated Neuropsychological Assessment Metrics: repeated assessment with two military samples.
INTRODUCTION U.S. military troops deploying to war zones are currently administered the Automated Neuropsychological Assessment Metrics (ANAM4) Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Battery to establish individual neurocognitive performance baselines. In part, the utility of the ANAM4 TBI Battery baseline measurement depends on test-retest reliability of this instrument. The purpose of this report was t...
متن کاملReview of measurement quality metrics for range imaging
Quality metrics, within the field of laser range imaging, are used to quantify by how much some aspect of a measurement deviates from a predefined standard. Measurement quality evaluations are becoming increasingly important in laser range imaging for range image registration, merging measurements, and planning the next best view. Spatial uncertainty and resolution are the primary metrics of im...
متن کاملComplementarity and additivity for depolarizing channels
In this paper we use the method of the paper [10] to compute complementary channels for certain important cases, such as depolarizing and transpose-depolarizing channels. This method allows us to easily obtain the minimal Kraus representations from non–minimal ones. We also study the properties of the output purity of the tensor product of a channel and its complement.
